As a designer of an ethical brand, I talk to lots of people about ethics and organics and here’s a theme which comes up on a regular basis. Why should we have to label organic goods? Is an organic potato something with added goodness? Extra magical, nutritional powers? No, of course not, it what we used to consider ‘normal’ a simple food which I personally love for its amazing versatility. What I don’t want to be thinking as I roast, mash or bake is to wonder if I’m cooking with a GM crop or spud with a trace of pesticide. That’s not  normal is it? Pink Janette on lake crop_edited-1

I’m deliberately using a food example because I find it heartening to see an increase in organic food consumption. I’m looking forward to even more organic food availability and of course a bigger swing towards ethical, organic clothes.

Organic should be normal right?
